Really happy with this, clone of the Deep Blue Delay. #guitarpedals #guitar #effectspedal #stompbox #fx #delay #echo #pedalboard
Nai Harvest released what is in my opinion one of the best LP’s of last year, title ‘Whatever’. I’m not here to talk about that. Hold Open My Head is the new single from the Steel City Two Piece, and this marks change. It’s a perfect jam for winter; go walking through the woods and stick this on; find out something new about yourself. Lay on your bed with it on repeat, close your eyes. The track starts on a very mid-paced, linear passage but soon bursts into a whole new life; Ben Thompson’s quirky lyricism really coming into play here. It’s introverted in a way that’s interesting instead of arrogant, it’s relative in a really left-field sense. If you didn’t relate to it straight away, after a few listens you’ll be feeling it. Without getting too deep though, this track is just fantastic, and nods a head to any two-piece band out there; no sound is lost and nothing feels missing. If anything, it gives the track a closeness, more of a focus, fewer heads getting in the way. It parallels live too, catching them touring with Gnarwolves in Lincoln a few days ago I found this out. It’s subtle when it needs to be, it’s in your face when it needs to be. Lew Currie holds it down from the backseat with an intricacy and energy seldom found today; and vocalist/guitarist Ben bounds around, throwing shapes and generally making the most of all the room of the stage. It was mad fun, hearing this track live was a highlight; and to top it all off they’re two of the nicest dudes I’ve ever had the pleasure of chatting too. If you didn’t know, now you know. Join in the fun.
How about four of my favorite 7”s. #januaryrecordaday #records #vinyl #wade #hindsights #adventures #mooseblood #departures
